Hi There! I’m Esther

My aim is to break your cycle of shitty professionals and get you making some real changes! I live with my own chronic illnesses and know allllll too well the frustration behind not being taken seriously or not working with someone who “gets it.” I work with people who are living with issues that are hard to talk about, people who feel like they are being dismissed, people who don’t know if feeling better is a possibility.

I work from a deep belief that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I work with every person to develop an individually tailored, research informed treatment plan specific to your background, goals, and preferences. I show up to my sessions authentically, reliably, and use a holistic and candid approach. I’m here to create a space for you where your story is really heard and healing feels possible.

I graduated with my BA in Psychology from Adelphi University, and with my MA in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University. I have worked directly with clients since 2021- first as a job coach for adults with disabilities and then as an intern therapist at a practice in NY. I spend most of my free time painting, being around animals, exploring new makeup and playing Sims 4.

Most importantly, this is Joey, my diligent assistant and your cheerleader through our sessions. No worries, she’s great at making sure that what we hear in session stays between just us.

“When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on. It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens, how confusions that seem irremediable turn into relatively clear flowing streams when one is heard.”
